Gods Love

As I was praying about what to share for devotions this morning, God spoke to my heart and said that he wanted to remind us of how much he loves us. I feel we are all facing different situations that we find challenging. It may be concern for a loved one, restlessness in changing circumstances, or even just trying to understand what is going on in the world around us. Whatever it is, God wants to remind us that He is with us and He loves us.

We need to practice keeping Christ as our center: not just in the meaning of him at the middle of our lives, which is true, but also as the person that keeps us balanced, focused, and peaceful in life. He is the one that gives the calm understanding in all situations. It is His promise that we stand on to know that He will work everything out for our good, because we love Him, and because He loves us.

So, I thought we’d read through some scriptures that reminds us of God’s love and faithfulness towards us.

Psalm 29: 11 – The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

Psalm 18: 2 – The Lord is my rock, my protection, my Savior. My God is my rock. I can run to him for safety. He is my shield and my saving strength, my defender.

Psalm 19:7-8 – The teachings of the Lord are perfect; they give new strength. The rules of the Lord can be trusted; they make plain people wise. The orders of the Lord are right; they make people happy. The commands of the Lord are pure; they light up the way.

Psalm 31:7-8 – I will be glad and rejoice in your love, because you saw my suffering; you knew my troubles. You have not handed me over to my enemies but have set me in a safe place.

Psalm 32:7 – You are my hiding place. You protect me from my troubles and fill me with songs of salvation.

Psalm 40:1-4a – I waited patiently for the Lord. He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of destruction, out of the sticky mud. He stood me on a rock and made my feet steady. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many people will see this and worship him. Then they will trust the Lord. Happy is the person who trusts the Lord.

Psalm 136 – His love continues forever…

And the last verse, which captures my heart for this devotion is the acknowledgment of God in our lives and the request that he will remain…

Psalm 138:8 – Lord, you do everything for me. Lord, your love continues forever. Do not leave us, whom you made.

So, in closing, I’d like us to watch this video and listen to this song to remind us of the love of God for us and a reflection of our love back to him.

As we finish the song, what are some reflections you have that you’d like to share on God’s love?
