Biblical readiness for tomorrow’s uncertainty.

"You must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect." (Luke 12:40)

What does readiness look like?

Colossians 3:1-2

Since then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

“What does it mean to set your mind on things above?” This was the question that started our small group Bible study last Wednesday. There were different answers from different people. The mom who is constantly juggling work, wife, and mother said she tried to do this by not releasing her fears to God.

Here's a some guidelines for building a ready church, ready city website.  Most people tend to just jump right in by designing something first rather than planning out their approach.

Website Project Process
Organization Name Website:

In this initial idea exchange, we will work together to determine the purpose and goals of the website. Discussion of marketing strategies, target markets and value expectations. Information is gathered during the planning process phase as the basis for developing a comprehensive road map for the project.  This becomes the blueprint for the project.  Most organizations get stuck in the discovery stage and never put their decisions down on paper.  It will be important that your organization validate each step in the planning process to ensure the success of the project.

Have you ever created account with your username and password and then returned to the site a year later and completely forgotten your login details?  Take a moment and create a secure password filing system.  This will insure that you use appropriate password techniques as you log into different websites possibly making yourself vulnerable to criminals.  Never use the same password for your email or computer account as you would for a shopping cart sites or subscription services.  The easiest way for someone to hack your system is to use your password.  Here are some of the most common passwords used and should never be used as your password…

So you have just completed your weekend training at your local church and you are ready to get your feet wet and your hands dirty.  Disaster Strikes.   Your team has self organized and has loaded up in the the church van headed out to make a difference.  But wait, don't forget the t-shirt.  Response shirts come in red, yellow, blue, orange; any color that stands out to tell everyone around you about who you are, who your with, or what you believe.  No matter what institution you serve under, be sure to give god the glory in everything you do.   Ask yourself these questions....  Where am I putting my money and my time?  Does the institution I serve under give glory to God and not man?

“I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13 KJV

Have you ever thought about what life would be like if there wasn’t any pain?  The day will come when we will enter the gates of heaven and all earthly things that are evil will not exist, but until this time there is a reason for why God allows us to endure pain.

Have you ever experienced pain from a broken relationship, pain from someone who negatively brought you down, or pain of loosing a loved one?  What happens when we experience pain?   Usually, all we have in our human ability goes to the cope with the pain, but rarely do we focus our attention on what we are gaining.  It’s not until we are on the road to recover that we begin to realize that there is an opportunity to grow through our pain.  The most incredible leaders in history fulfilled mega visions, while enduring much pain physically, emotionally and mentally.
