Invest into Your Church Before Crisis Strikes

Getting involved in a Bible based church will help you spiritually cope when dealing with Lyme and it also provides a support system for meals during recovery.  Check out Annie's Testimony Here:    http://community.christianemergencynetwork.org/videos/mikemarshall/video/37-annie-marshall--testimony-in-her-battle-with-lyme-disease

When Mothers Cry

Posted by Mike Marshall in Untagged

SWARTZ CREEK MI (ANS) -- Like a recurring nightmare, we again hear of carnage and senseless violence, a bizarre attack and unanswerable questions; and a school is again the setting. A lone perpetrator, but a million mysteries. Worse than only hearing the news, we see these days the anguish and fear, the confusion and panic; we see distraught children, and we see the tears on the cheeks of mothers.

Before those tears have dried, there are calls from some quarters to change laws and outlaw guns. But in the same week a school in China was invaded, and children died at the hands of a knife-wielding maniac. Arsonists have, throughout history, claimed the lives of men, women... and children. Innocents. History’s pages are, in some ways, chronicles of the slaughter of innocents.

The Believers Pray | Acts 4:23-31

23 On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24 When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them. 25 You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father David:

“‘Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
26 The kings of the earth rise up
    and the rulers band together
against the Lord
    and against his anointed one.[a][b]

27 Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed. 28 They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen. 29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. 30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?  1 John 3:17

It wasn’t that long ago that I was in a business management class at a small college in San Diego.  One of the assignments for the semester was a group project. The instructions were to work in a team of 5 people and create a set of instructions that would show how to build a small model boat.  We were to design the boat, provide a blueprint, and the build the model boat to show and demonstrate our product.   I sat down with my group of motivated leaders - poised and ready give all they had to this project.  However, what seemed such a simple project, in short order, turned into a complicated nightmare that kept me awake until 4am in the morning.  In the first hour of our planning time came 5 different opinions on the grandeur of how this small model boat should look.   Suddenly a small model boat turned into a world-class yacht.  A simple plan would yield a simple set of instructions, but several members were on the fast track to show off their artistic skills rather than focusing on the requirements of the assignment. I was hindered from accomplishing the assignment’s goals, and my frustration grew. My teammate’s egos were getting in the way because the sky was the limit.  They wanted to build the coolest model boat ever, but they were missing the point of the assignment.
