You arrive home, the door is open. You either call the police, or carefully enter your home, with fear and trepidation. Your stuff is tossed around, valuables, and heirlooms are gone. Part of your life is gone.

A major explosion ripped through an Indianapolis neighborhood overnight leaving two confirmed dead and 200 others homeless. As hurricane Sandy lumbered ashore, those in the path had days to prepare. These people had no time. Many were asleep when the explosion happened.

We all should, at a minimum have a 72 hour go kit with emergency supplies available to help get us through an disaster as part of an emergency preparedness plan. Most of us know boiling water for 6 minuets will work. You need water, a fire, and a safe container to boil the water. Water doesn't need to boil to kill the bad stuff, just be heated to 160 degrees, wile boiling if possible is better, this method will work.
