Avoid “Smishing” on Your Cell phone

Scam artists are always looking for new and innovative ways to get your personal information. Now, Smartphone face a new threat, “Smishing”.  These are text messages you receive made to appear official, but are fake, like:

  • Contact your bank to resolve a banking issue
  • You are provided with a purchase information and told to call a number to resolve any inaccuracies
  • Notification you signed up for a service and must notify the firm if incorrect to avoid being charged

Midwest Drought May Cause Shipping Disaster

A key principle to remember is some disasters create an immediate effect, while others unfold over time. The Midwest drought, the worst in 50 years is one such disaster.

 

We have all been saddened, and outraged with the murders of 20 children and 6 adults at Sandy Hook School. Political leaders, and others are calling for new measures to stop violence.  In the coming weeks pushes will come for new gun control measures, mental health procedures and better ways to fight violence. While studying new measures may help in the future, the key issue is the heart.
