In the early morning hours of Sunday, January 8th, Maricopa County Sheriffs deputies responded to a break in call at a medical facility in Anthem Arizona. As deputies approached the suspect’s vehicle, shots were fired by the suspect, killing Deputy William Colman. The suspect was killed by return fire from other deputies.

Anthem is located 30 miles north of downtown Phoenix and is known for it’s quite, family setting.
Early Monday morning 15 Christians, part of the CEN Anthem Network, gathered at 4:00 AM at an adjacent Starbucks to pray for the families of the slain deputy, the Starbucks workers who witnessed and were threatened during the shooting, the other local businesses affected.
Later today, a meeting will be held by local pastors, with an eye of organizing a community memorial service in Anthem. Donations may be made to the Deputy Coleman Memorial Fund at Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, Account #:6000123586, funds will be used to support his widow and young children.
