Keeping a Prayer-Care-Share Life Going

Posted by Mary Marr in Untagged

If you are like many pastors today, you want to equip your congregation in sharing their faith sensitively and effectively, yet you do not need another program to manage or hand-hold. Or, maybe you are feeling your congregation resisting the Biblical admonition in sharing their faith so you have resorted to ignoring equipping them. You ARE called only to equip the believer, not do their part. Lighting the Way offers the gentle equipping-support you need.

In addition to the daily guiding devotionals, Lighting the Way includes the instructional manual for chosen lay leaders to implement the Pray-Care-Share principles within small groups, adult Sunday school classes, or even as an independent study course within a 90-day period of time.

A Call to Champion in Uncertain Times

Posted by Mike Marshall in Untagged

Imagine if you were a coach of a softball team and your first game was next week.  Your first step would be to gather all your team members, right?  Let’s say all you did was gather the team members and then you said to your team, “we are having a game next week”, so be ready!  Do you think that this team would be ready for their first game?   Of course not, ……. in fact it’s just like my church softball team.

Today there are over 200 million users on Facebook and more than half of them have created groups of people for a specific interest that they intend to influence. Pulling a list of players together is not enough.  God created the gift of leadership…given by God to use and instruct others.  As a champion we must not dictate or control but create a process for leading those we influence.

" set apart for the gospel of God." Romans 1:1

Tune in to any financial news broadcast, browse any newspaper, note the houses for sale on your own block, and scan your investments and retirement fund and you'll find that bad news abounds. Fear can begin to grip us, causing us to either freeze up, do nothing or make erratic, emotional and ultimately poor choices.

Prayer Impacts Church Response & Recovery

Posted by CEN in Untagged

A Ready Church knows that prayer is an essential response and recovery tool.

The Fargo, North Dakota  area churches have  sheltered their displaced families, provided food, sandbagged, conducted 24-hour dike and pump watches, assisted neighbors, shared the gospel, cared for children out of school  for at least 2 weeks...all while anticipating massive clean-up efforts in the days and weeks  following.   Though many response and recovery groups arrived  in Fargo, the Christian citizens themselves did a mighty work with God's help, many as part of their church's disaster response efforts.

The Bible says a lot about ways God works in and through disasters.   Here's just one instance where many lessons come forth.
